From Figma to production: my senior front-end launch checklist

The repeatable checklist I use when turning high-fidelity mocks into robust, accessible front-end code that ships on time.

Handing off from Figma to code is where many teams lose fidelity. This checklist keeps designers and engineers aligned on spacing, type, interactions and accessibility. It pairs well with resources like the Chrome DevTools docs and modern component libraries.

A repeatable handoff workflow

My teams work through the same stages every time we move from design to implementation: audit the Figma file for component reuse, check tokens against the codebase, agree on interaction specs, then implement screens behind feature flags. Only once QA has verified accessibility and responsive behaviour do we remove the flags and call the work "done".

It sounds simple, but having a shared, written checklist dramatically reduces miscommunication. It also makes onboarding new designers and engineers far smoother. They can observe the process in action instead of guessing expectations.
